Roncade

Roncade is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 14,684 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Treviso in Veneto . The municipality is located about 25 kilometers north of Venice and about 10 kilometers southeast of Treviso on the Sile . The Musestre flows into the Sile in the village of the same name. Roncade borders the metropolitan city of Venice .

history

The area around Roncade was already populated by hunters and gatherers in the Neolithic Age. In the heyday of Rome, the Via Claudia Augusta and the Via Annia crossed today's municipal area to Altinum . Roncade became part of the Republic of Venice .
