Riese Pio X (usually called Riese for short ) is a municipality with 11,037 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in northeast Italy , in the province of Treviso and the Veneto region . It owes its nickname (similar to Sotto il Monte Giovanni XXIII ) to its most famous son, Giuseppe Sarto, the later Pope Pius X. ( Italian Pio X ).
Riese Pio X is also the birthplace of Giacomo Monico (1776-1851), a predecessor Sarto on the throne of the Patriarch of Venice .
