San Biagio di Callalta is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 13,012 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Treviso in Veneto . Numerous changes to the municipal area have given smaller districts to the municipalities of Salgareda and Ponte di Piave . The municipality is located about 10 kilometers east-northeast of Treviso and about 27.5 kilometers north of Venice .

Attractions

In the Fagarè della Battaglia fraction is the Sacrario Militare di Fagarè della Battaglia , a memorial with an ossuary that primarily commemorates the Second Battle of the Piave .

Callalta ran through the community. The callis alta connected the Roman communities Tarvisium (Treviso) and Opiterium ( Oderzo ). Today's Strada Regionale 53 Postumia roughly follows the course. In the main town of the same name there is a train station that is served by trains on the Treviso- Portogruaro line. In the district of Fagarè della Battaglia there is a small train station on the same route.
