Maserada sul Piave is a north-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9,363 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Treviso in Veneto . The municipality is located about eleven kilometers northwest of Treviso south of the Piave .

history

There was already a settlement here in Roman antiquity, as the discovery of aedicules and graves from this period shows. The Collalto family ruled the local fiefdom from the 11th century . In 1231, the abbey of St. Eustachius in Nervesa della Battaglia became the landlady of Maserada until the Republic of Venice finally took possession of the lands.

To the east of the municipality, the A27 autostrada leads from Mestre in the direction of the Piave Valley and the Dolomites . The nearest train station is in Villorba- Lacenigo.
