Lino Zanini

Lino Zanini (born May 6, 1909 in Riese Pio X , Treviso Province , Italy ; † October 25, 1997 ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Lino Zanini received on July 2, 1933 the Patriarch of Venice , Pietro Cardinal La Fontaine , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On June 16, 1959, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Hadrianopolis in Haemimonto and ordered him to Apostolic Nuncio in the Dominican Republic . The Patriarch of Venice, Giovanni Cardinal Urbani , donated him episcopal ordination on September 3 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Treviso , Antonio Mistrorigo , and the auxiliary bishop in Venice, Giuseppe Olivotti .

In 1961 Lino Zanini became an official in the Vatican State Secretariat . On May 30, 1962, Lino Zanini was appointed Apostolic Delegate to Israel . Pope Paul VI appointed him on January 4, 1966 as Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Egypt . On May 7, 1969, Zanini became Apostolic Nuncio in Argentina .

On May 15, 1989, Pope John Paul II accepted Lino Zanini's resignation due to reasons of age.

Lino Zanini participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
