The Roman Catholic Church in Egypt is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church . The Catholics are a small minority in the country, which is over 90% Muslim .

The Latin Church in Egypt ( Apostolic Vicariate of Alexandria ) has only about 30,000 members, mostly of foreign origin. In addition, however, several churches united with Rome are active in Egypt. By far the most important is the Coptic Catholic Church with around 250,000 members in 8 dioceses (Alexandria, Gizeh, Luxor, Minya, Assiut, Sohag, Ismayliah, Abu Qurqas). The Melkite Greek Catholic Church (Archdiocese of Alexandria) has around 35,000 members (estimate; the last own statement is from 1970: 11,000 believers). There is also the Maronite Church ( Eparchat of Cairo ) with 5000 believers, the Syrian Catholic Church (Eparchat of Cairo) with 1700 believers, the Armenian Catholic Church (Eparchat of Alexandria) with 1300 believers and the Chaldean Catholic Church ( Eparchat from Cairo ) with 500 believers.

The Holy See has diplomatic relations with Egypt. Apostolic Nuncio has been Archbishop Nicolas Thevenin since November 2019 .
