The Diocese of Port Victoria ( French Diocèse de Port-Victoria , Latin Dioecesis Portus Victoriae or Dioesesis Seychellarum ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church based in Victoria .

history

The diocese goes from the 1852 by Pope Pius IX. established Apostolic Prefecture . In 1880 Pope Leo XIII raised the prefecture to the Apostolic Vicariate and on July 14, 1892 to the diocese. The Cathédrale de l'Immaculée-Conception de Victoria , the episcopal see, was built in 1874.
