The immediate Erzbistum Tunisia ( lat. : Archidioecesis tunetanus ) is an in Tunisia preferred Roman Catholic Archdiocese based in Tunisia .

The Archdiocese was founded in 1843 as the Apostolic Vicariate of Tunis and was raised to the Archdiocese of Carthage on November 10, 1884 under the name of the Apostolic Vicariate of Carthage . On July 9, 1964, the archbishopric was converted into the territorial prelature of Tunis , on May 31, 1995, to a diocese and on May 22, 2010 again to the archbishopric.
