The Roman Catholic Church in Bahrain is a small minority church in Arabia .

In Bahrain, Islam is the state religion according to the constitution; Sharia applies.

The first official diplomatic relations between the Holy See and Bahrain have existed since 1999. In 2012, Pope Benedict XVI. founded the Vicariate Apostolic Northern Arabia based in Manama , Bahrain. The Apostolic Vicariate includes the Arab states of Bahrain, Qatar , Kuwait and Saudi Arabia .

In 1939 the first Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was built in Manama through the provision of land by the Emir of Bahrain . About 140,000 Catholics belong to the parish.

Apostolic Nuncio was Archbishop Francisco Montecillo Padilla until 2020 .
