Roman Catholic Church in Armenia

The structure of the Roman Catholic Church in Armenia is a young diaspora community .

Shaped by an ancient Christian culture, the Catholic Church of Armenia today has 50,000 Latin and 220,000 Oriental Catholics.

The State of Armenia and the Holy See (Vatican) maintain diplomatic relations. The seat of the Apostolic Nuncio , who is also responsible for Georgia and Azerbaijan, is in Tbilisi . Archbishop José Avelino Bettencourt has been nuncio in Armenia since March 1, 2018 .
