Francisco Montecillo Padilla (born September 17, 1953 in Cebu City ) is a Filipino clergyman, Roman Catholic archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Francisco Montecillo Padilla received on 21 October 1976 by the Archbishop of Cebu , Julio Cardinal Rosales y Ras , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On April 1, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Nebbio and ordered him to Apostolic Nuncio in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands . He was ordained bishop on May 23 of the same year by the Archbishop of Cebu, Ricardo Cardinal Vidal ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines, Archbishop Fernando Filoni , and the Apostolic Nuncio in Australia , Archbishop Ambrose Battista De Paoli . On November 10, 2011, Francisco Montecillo Padilla became Apostolic Nuncio in Tanzania .

On April 5, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Kuwait and Apostolic Delegate to the Arabian Peninsula . On April 26 of the same year he was also appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates . On July 30, 2016, he was appointed nuncio in Yemen . On May 6, 2017, he was also appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Qatar . Pope Francis called him on April 17, 2020 as Apostolic Nuncio in Guatemala .
