Walter Iffland
Walter Iffland (born June 14, 1856 in Piotrowo , Schrimm district , † 1899 in Wiesbaden ) was a German administrative lawyer.
Life
Iffland attended grammar school in Schrimm . After graduating from high school, he first studied law at the University of Geneva . Michaelis In 1874 he moved to the Silesian Friedrich Wilhelms University . In the summer semester of 1874 he became a chestnut in the Corps Marcomannia Breslau . He switched from the administration of justice to the internal administration of Prussia and came to the General Commission (Prussia) . For several years he was special commissioner in Tilsit . When in October 1892 Prussian Settlement Commission was established, Iffland came as Councilor to that authority. His precise knowledge of the native province of Poznan , in particular his thorough understanding of the agricultural conditions there, soon made him a highly valued member of the commission. In accordance with his wishes, he was appointed district administrator in the Posen-West district in 1896 . The Ikrcynki manor, inherited from his father, was also in the circle. Iffland was a passionate hunter. He fell ill with severe depression . In November 1899 he was in Wiesbaden for a cure. He lived with a widow Frieda Behn, who lived in Abeggstr. 5 ran a family pension. On November 13, 1899, he was found dead in Wiesbaden's Tennelbachtal. In the so-called death control register of the Wiesbaden registry office, the date of birth is given: July 6, 1856, but above it in pencil: “14. June ”set as the cause of death“ stabbed himself ”. In the death entry (registry office Wiesbaden 1203/1899), the place of birth is: Piotrowo, Krs. Schrimm, and the place of residence: Posen, kleine Ritterstraße. The date of death is not known. Iffland died unmarried and childless.
