Mario Brini

Mario Brini (born May 11, 1908 in Piombino , Province of Livorno , Italy ; † December 9, 1995 ) was a Curial Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Mario Brini received on 29 June 1938, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On September 12, 1959, Pope John XXIII appointed him . to the Apostolic Delegate in Indochina . John XXIII appointed him on October 14, 1961 titular Archbishop of Algiza . Cardinal Secretary of State Amleto Giovanni Cicognani donated him episcopal ordination on January 28, 1962 ; Co- consecrators were the secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Curia Archbishop Pietro Sigismondi , and the Bishop of Massa Marittima , Faustino Baldini . On June 13, 1962, Pope John XXIII appointed him. to Internuncio in Egypt . Pope Paul VI appointed him on October 2, 1965 as secretary of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches .

On September 14, 1982 Pope John Paul II accepted Mario Brini's resignation because of his age.

Brini attended the second, third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
