Pietro Sigismondi

Pietro Sigismondi (born February 23, 1908 in Villa d'Almè , Bergamo province , Italy , † May 25, 1967 ) was a Curia Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Pietro Sigismondi received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Bergamo on August 15, 1930 . From 1932 he studied at the Pontifical Diplomatic Academy .

On December 16, 1949, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Neapolis in Pisidia and ordered him to apostolic delegate in the Republic of Congo and in Rwanda . The Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Pietro Cardinal Fumasoni Biondi , donated him episcopal ordination on January 8, 1950 ; Co-consecrators were the secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, Archbishop Celso Costantini , and the official imVatican State Secretariat , Archbishop Angelo Rotta . On September 27, 1954 Pius XII appointed him. as secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples. On December 9th of the same year he was appointed Consultor of the Holy Office.

Pietro Sigismondi took part in the second, third and fourth session of the Second Vatican Council , of which he had been a member of the Preparatory Commission since July 1960.
