Samuele Longo (born January 12, 1992 in Valdobbiadene ) is an Italian football player who is under contract with Inter Milan , but currently plays on loan at FC Venice .

Career

society

Longo started his career at FBC Treviso before moving to Inter Milan in 2009. At Inter, he was first used as a junior player and loaned to the Serie B club Piacenza Calcio and the Serie A team CFC Genoa for half a season . At Genoa he only made appearances as a junior player, but the Genoese secured half of the transfer rights to the young striker.

After his return to Milan, he was initially used again in the Nerazzurri (Primavera) youth team and was an important part of the team that won the NextGen Series , a European Cup for youth teams. Longo was the most successful goalscorer of his team in this tournament. Among other things, he brought his team 1-0 lead in the final against the youth team from Ajax Amsterdam and converted - after the score was 1: 1 after 120 minutes - a penalty in a penalty shoot-out. This team was looked after by Andrea Stramaccioni , who became head coach at Inter one day after the final.

On the final day of the 2011/12 season Longo made his competitive debut for the Nerazzurri when he was substituted on by Stramaccioni against Lazio . Nevertheless, Longo continued to play for Inter's Primavera, with which he was able to win the championship at the end of this season . Longo scored a goal in the final against the youth team from Lazio Rome and was also voted the best player in the championship tournament. Almost two weeks later, Inter bought back all transfer rights to Longo from Genoa.

In the 2012/13 season Longo moved on loan to Spanish first division club Espanyol Barcelona . In his first game for Espanyol, he scored his first goal with a volley against Levante UD .

For the 2013/14 season Longo returned to Italy, where he was loaned to Serie A promoted Hellas Verona . At Hellas, Longo was rarely used and therefore after six months in Verona he moved to the Spanish club Rayo Vallecano on loan .

In July 2014 Longo was loaned to Serie A club Cagliari Calcio for two years .

National team

Longo has so far played for various youth teams in Italy. He made his debut for the Italian U-21 national team on April 25, 2012 against Scotland . In the same game, he also scored his first goal for Italy's U-21s.
