Prosecco di Conegliano Valdobbiadene
Prosecco di Conegliano Valdobbiadene is an Italian sparkling wine (" Spumante ") that is grown in Conegliano or Valdobbiadene (both province of Treviso ) and the surrounding area. The name has been a "controlled and guaranteed designation of origin " ( Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita - DOCG) since 2009 , the highest quality level in Italian viticulture . According to the production regulations, the following designations are also possible: Conegliano Valdobbiadene-Prosecco or Conegliano-Prosecco or Valdobbiadene-Prosecco .
Growing area
The grapes for Prosecco di Conegliano Valdobbiadene may only be grown in the municipal areas of the following municipalities: Conegliano , San Vendemiano , Colle Umberto , Vittorio Veneto , Tarzo , Cison di Valmarino , San Pietro di Feletto , Refrontolo , Susegana , Pieve di Soligo , Farra di Soligo , Follina , Miane , Vidor and Valdobbiadene .
In 2017, 3388 winemakers produced 683,154 hectoliters of wine.
Denominations of Origin
The name Cartizze stands for a single vineyard that is oriented steeply to the south and is located on the soil of the municipality of Valdobbiadene. A newly introduced name is Rive . With this, a local denomination (e.g. Prosecco Superiore DOCG Rive di San Pietro) is added. These markings are sub-zones (Italian Sottozone ) for which the Italian wine law applies more stringent production conditions compared to the other areas of the production area. (See Valtellina , Chianti ).
generation
The main grape varieties that may be used are Glera (the new name for the Prosecco variety) (85–100%) and a maximum of 0–15% Verdiso , Bianchetta trevigiana , Perera and Glera Lunga (individually or together).
