Breganze is an Italian commune in the province of Vicenza , Veneto region . The municipality has 8562 inhabitants on an area of 21 km² (as of December 31, 2019).

Viticulture
The municipality gives its name to a small wine-growing region in Veneto . Since 1969, wines produced there have been given the status of "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC), which was last updated on March 7, 2014.
Cultivation
The cultivation is also authorized in the municipalities of Fara Vicentino , Molvena and in parts of the municipalities of Bassano del Grappa , Lugo di Vicenza , Marostica , Mason Vicentino , Montecchio Precalcino , Pianezze , Salcedo , Sandrigo , Sarcedo and Zugliano .
In 2014, the winemakers produced around 24,000 hl of DOC wine from 427 hectares of approved vineyards.

The following types of wine may be produced:
- Breganze bianco , also known as "Superiore". Made from at least 50% Tocai Friulano . A maximum of 50% other white grape varieties approved for cultivation in the province of Vicenza may be added.
- Breganze rosso , also known as "Superiore" and "Riserva". Made from at least 50% Merlot . A maximum of 50% other red grape varieties approved for cultivation in the province of Vicenza may be added.
- All other wines must contain at least 85% of the grape variety mentioned . A maximum of 15% other analogue grape varieties approved for cultivation in the province of Vicenza may be added. These are:
- Breganze Tai (from Tocai Friulano ), also called "Superiore"
- Breganze Pinot Bianco , also called "Superiore"
- Breganze Pinot Grigio , also called "Superiore"
- Breganze Vespaiolo (from Vespaiola ), also called "Superiore" and " Spumante "
- Breganze Torcolato (made from partially rosinated Vespaiola grapes), also called "Riserva"
- Breganze Chardonnay , also called "Superiore"
- Breganze Sauvignon , also called "Superiore"
- Breganze Pinot nero , also called "Superiore" and "Riserva"
- Breganze Marzemino , also called "Superiore" and "Riserva"
- Breganze Merlot , also called "Superiore" and "Riserva"
- Breganze Cabernet Sauvignon , also called "Superiore" and "Riserva"
- Breganze Cabernet (from Cabernet Franc and / or Cabernet Sauvignon and / or Carmenère ), also called "Superiore" and "Riserva".
Others
The Diesel fashion label and the agricultural machinery manufacturer Laverda SpA have their headquarters in Breganze.
