Lessini Durello

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lessini Durello or Durello Lessini is an Italian sparkling wine ( Spumante ) that is produced in the hilly region of the Monti Lessini north of the Verona - Vicenza line or in the Lessinia area . These sparkling wines have had DOC status since 2011 , which was last changed on March 7, 2014.

Growing area

The production of Lessini Durello is only permitted

Manufacturing

In 2014, 25,804 hectoliters of wine were produced from 280 ha in the entire Lessini area  . The region's specialty is the Durella grape variety . The idiosyncratic dry and slightly bitter wines give the region a better livelihood, as otherwise they would have to sell the wine as Soave .

In addition to the Durella variety, which must be at least 85% in the wine, the Garganega , Pinot bianco , Pinot nero and Chardonnay grape varieties are also permitted - alone or together a maximum of 15%.
