Riviera del Brenta (wine)
Under the name Riviera del Brenta , white , red and sparkling wines are produced in the northern Italian provinces of Venice and Padua , on the banks of the river Brenta , which since June 21, 2004 the status of a controlled designation of origin " Denominazione di origine controllata " ( short DOC). The last update was published on March 7, 2014.
Growing area
Cultivation and vinification may be carried out in the following municipalities:
- In the province of Venice: Camponogara , Dolo , Fiesso d'Artico , Fossò , Mirano , Noale , Pianiga , Salzano , Santa Maria di Sala , Spinea , Stra , Vigonovo , and in parts of the municipalities of Campagna Lupia , Campolongo Maggiore , Martellago , Mira , Scorze and Venice
- In the province of Padua: Borgoricco , Cadoneghe , Campodarsego , Camposampiero , Curtarolo , Limena , Massanzago , San Giorgio delle Pertiche , Vigodarzere , Vigonza , Villanova di Camposampiero , and in parts of the municipalities of Campo San Martino , Loreggia , Noventa Padovana , Padova , Piove di Sacco , Sant'Angelo di Piove di Sacco , San Giorgio in Bosco , Santa Giustina in Colle , Saonara , Trebaseleghe and Villa del Conte .

The following types of wine are produced within this denomination:
- Blended wine ( Cuvée )
- Riviera del Brenta Bianco (also called Frizzante ): must consist of at least 50% of the Tocai Friulano grape variety . A maximum of 50% other white grape varieties may be added (individually or together).
- Riviera del Brenta Rosso : (also as rosé wine and Novello ) must consist of at least 50% Merlot grapes . A maximum of 50% other red grape varieties may be added (individually or together).
- Riviera del Brenta Spumante : must consist of at least 60% Chardonnay grapes . A maximum of 40% other white grape varieties may be added (individually or together).
- Almost single origin wines
- The following wines must contain at least 85% of the grape variety mentioned. A maximum of 15% other analogous grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the provinces of Venice and Padua may be added.
- Riviera del Brenta Cabernet , also called "Riserva", (from Cabernet Franc and / or Cabernet Sauvignon and / or Carmenère )
- Riviera del Brenta Carmenère
- Riviera del Brenta Merlot
- Riviera del Brenta Raboso (also called "Riserva"): (from Raboso Piave and / or Raboso Veronese )
- Riviera del Brenta Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso or simply Riviera del Brenta Refosco (also called "Riserva")
- Riviera del Brenta Pinot Bianco (also as sparkling wine and frizzante)
- Riviera del Brenta Pinot Grigio
- Riviera del Brenta Chardonnay (also as sparkling wine and frizzante)
