Camposampiero is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 12,041 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Padua in Veneto . The municipality has had the title città (city) since 2009 . Camposampiero is located about 18 kilometers north-northeast of Padua , about 30 kilometers east of Vicenza and about 33 kilometers northwest of Venice .
history
In a notarial deed, Camposampiero 1117 is documented for the first time. The place name is derived from a chapel that was consecrated to Saint Peter (San Pietro). Such a church still exists today.
