The municipality is located about 6 kilometers east of Padua city ​​center in the metropolitan area. The Brenta flows in the eastern municipality . history

A place called Nova (also in similar forms of name) was first mentioned in the area of ​​Padua in 918. At the beginning of the 13th century, Isabella of England , wife of Staufer Friedrich II, resides here in the Noventana fortifications. The artificial Piovego Canal was dug here in the 13th century.
