Due Carrare is a north-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 8,992 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Padua in Veneto . The municipality is located about 14 kilometers south-southwest of Padua . Due Carrare was created in 1995 from the merger of the municipalities of Carrara San Giorgio and Carrara San Stefano. The Canale Biancolino and the Canale Vigenzone run through the municipality . The municipal administration is located in Carrara San Giorgio.

history

The Carraresi family or "von Carrare" has been known as the lords of the Principality of Padua since the 12th century. The abbey of St. Stephen in the locality of San Stefano (11th century) is older.
