Gambellara is a northern Italian municipality with 3432 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Veneto region . Gambellara belongs to the province of Vicenza .

Neighboring municipalities are Lonigo , Montebello Vicentino , Montecchia di Crosara (Province of Verona), Monteforte d'Alpone (VR), Roncà (VR) and San Bonifacio (VR)

Viticulture

Gambellara is mainly because of the eponymous DOC - white wine known. In addition, the DOCG wine Recioto di Gambellara is produced from dried grapes .

The wine-growing area includes (in whole or in part) several municipalities in the province of Vicenza : Gambellara, Montebello Vicentino , Montorso Vicentino and Zermeghedo .

On January 11, 1803, Blessed Giovanni Antonio Farina , Bishop of Treviso (1850-1860) and Vicenza (1860-1888) was born in Gambellara.
