Camisano Vicentino (Venetian: Camixàn , German: Gamisenburg ) is a north-east Italian municipality ( comune ) with 11,235 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Vicenza in Veneto . The municipality is located about 10 kilometers east-southeast of Vicenza at the confluence of the Ceresone and Roggia Poina rivers . The Ceresone later flows into the Bacchiglione . Camisano Vicentino borders directly on the province of Padua .
history
The origins of the community can be found in the period between the 11th and 13th centuries. In 1313 Cangrande I della Scala moved into the village with a bloody harvest, and in 1348 the community was ravaged by the plague. 1404 came the place with the surrounding communities to the Republic of Venice .

Camisano Vicentino has partnerships with the municipality of Archea Olympia in western Greece (since 2000) and with Fuerte Olimpo in Paraguay .
