Isola Vicentina is a municipality in the Italian province of Vicenza with 10,331 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

geography

The municipality is located about 12 kilometers northwest of the provincial capital Vicenza and about 27 kilometers (as the crow flies) southwest of Bassano del Grappa . Its main center is in the Castelnovo fraction . Other factions are Ignago and Torreselle.

The neighboring municipalities are Caldogno , Castelgomberto , Cornedo Vicentino , Costabissara , Gambugliano , Malo and Villaverla .

Town twinning

Isola Vicentina has been a partner community of Mühlhausen (Upper Palatinate) in Bavaria since 1998 . Since 2012, Marau in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul has also been twin town of Isola Vicentina.

Honorary citizen

The place made the theologian Romano Guardini an honorary citizen in 1963 .
