Cartigliano is a north-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3801 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Vicenza in Veneto . The municipality is located about 21.5 kilometers northeast of Vicenza on the Brenta .

history

The name of the community is said to be derived from the fundus Cartilianus . The community is mentioned for the first time in 589, albeit not under its name. From the battle with the Hungarians in 899, the former tumulus with the graves can still be seen today.

Parish partnership

Cartigliano has had a partnership with the Hungarian municipality of Kimle in Győr-Moson-Sopron County since 2006 .
