Altissimo is a north-east Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2172 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Vicenza in Veneto . The municipality is located about 29.5 kilometers northwest of Vicenza on the Chiampo in the Parco naturale regional della Lessinia and borders directly on the province of Verona .

The place was created in the 13th century by the immigration of German woodcutters in the upper Vicentino .
