Mahmud Selim Imamoglu (born January 23, 1991 in Vienna ) is an Austrian - Turkish football player . The defender and midfielder plays for SV Wienerberg .

Athletic career

Imamoglu began his career at Gersthofer SV before moving to the youth division of First Vienna FC in 2005 . 2008 was appointed to the first team squad and made his debut on August 8, 2008 against SC Zwettl in the Regionalliga Ost, where he was substituted in the 66th minute and received a yellow card. In the promotion season of Vienna, he came on another eleven missions. In 2009/10 he was one of the permanent staff in the second highest Austrian league, the so-called First League. After another season with the oldest Austrian football club, he moved to Istanbul Güngörenspor in Turkey at the beginning of the 2011/12 season in the second Turkish league, where the central defender was not used.

At the beginning of 2012 he returned to Austria and signed with Bundesliga club SC Wiener Neustadt . Imamoglu settled in well under coach Peter Stöger and made eight appearances in the Bundesliga. He made his debut on matchday 24 against SK Sturm Graz when he came on for Christian Ramsebner in the 33rd minute . The game in the UPC Arena was won 1-0. In January 2013 he moved to SC Ritzing in the third highest Austrian division of the Regionalliga Ost.

Internationally, the Austro-Turk has made eight appearances in Austria's U-19s so far . He made his debut against the U-19s of Armenia . The game in Feldkirchen in Carinthia was won 5: 1. Imamoglu came on in the 73rd minute for Marco Djuricin . In addition, the center-back took part in the U-19 European Football Championship in France in 2010 , where he was used in all group matches against France , England and the Netherlands . Imamoglu was eliminated in the preliminary round with Austria despite teammates like David Alaba or Michael Schimpelsberger .
