Caldogno (German: Kaltun ) is a north-east Italian municipality ( comune ) with 11,337 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Vicenza in Veneto . The municipality is located about 7.5 kilometers north-northwest of Vicenza south of the Bacchiglione river .

history

The origins of the place reach far back into the Middle Ages. Andrea Palladio designed the Villa Caldogno Nordera , presumably between 1540 and 1560. There is no clear evidence of his authorship, but numerous stylistic elements point to him.
