geography
The city of Montecchio Maggiore is about 50 km from Verona , 15 km from Vicenza and 60 km from Venice . Neighboring towns are Altavilla Vicentina , Arzignano , Brendola , Castelgomberto , Montebello Vicentino , Montorso Vicentino , Sovizzo , Trissino and Zermeghedo .

The place Montecchio Maggiore is an important industrial center in Northern Italy and is considered the richest municipality in Italy . Before the Second World War , agriculture was the most important economic pillar of the city or region. In the 1960s, industry recorded strong growth and there was a structural change from the tertiary to the secondary sector.
