Creazzo is a north-east Italian municipality ( comune ) with 11,347 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Vicenza in Veneto . The municipality is located about 5.5 kilometers west-southwest of Vicenza .

history

In 1513 the Battle of Creazzo (also Battle of La Motta ) took place here. Spanish and Habsburg troops fought under the leadership of Georg von Frundsberg and others against the Republic of Venice and won a surprising victory.

traffic

Strada Regionale 11 Padana Superiore runs through the municipality . The A4 Autostrada is parallel to the south . This can be reached via the Vicenza Ovest junction . The railway line from Verona to Vicenza (as part of the route from Milan to Venice ) also runs through the municipality. The nearest train stations are in Vicenza and Altavilla Vicentina .

Sports

In May 2009 the BMX European Championship took place in Creazzo.
