Marano Vicentino is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9532 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Vicenza in Veneto . The municipality is located about 18 kilometers northwest of Vicenza on the eastern bank of the Bacchiglione and in the center of the province of Vicenza. Until 1867 the name was only Marano , the addition was added to distinguish the same or similar place names.
Economy and Transport
Maize is grown around Marano Vicentino. It is referred to as Maranello / Maranelo or Mais Marano (protein content: 19.69%; carbohydrates: 61.58%; fats: 5.76%). Marano Vicentino is on the A31 autostrada . The motorway connection, however, is in the neighboring municipality of Thiene (district: Borgo Lambertico). Maranos station is on the non-electrified Vicenza- Schio railway line .
