Vicenza (wine)

Under the name Vicenza DOC , Italian white , red and sparkling wines are produced from the area around the city of Vicenza , ( Venice region ), which has been a controlled "designation of origin " (" Denominazione di origine controllata " - DOC) since September 18, 2000 that was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Blended wines (Cuvées)
  • Vicenza Bianco (also called Frizzante , Spumante or Passito ): must contain at least 50% Garganega . A maximum of 50% other analogue grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the province of Venice (individually or together) may be added.
  • Vicenza Rosso (also called Novello rosato and Rosato Frizzante ): must contain at least 50% Merlot . A maximum of 50% other analogue grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the province of Venice (individually or together) may be added.
Almost single origin wines

The wines produced must each contain at least 85% of the grape variety mentioned. A maximum of 15% other analogous grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the province of Venice may be added. The following types of wine are produced:
