Venezia is the name for white , rosé and red wines as well as sparkling wines from the provinces of Venice and Treviso , which have had a controlled "designation of origin " ("Denominazione di origine controllata" -  DOC ) since December 22, 2010 March 2014 was updated.

Cultivation

Cultivation and vinification are permitted in the entire provinces of Venice and Treviso.

In 2017, 125,977 hl of DOC wine were produced.

Blended wines (Cuvées)
  • Venezia Rosato or Venezia Rosé (also as Frizzante or Spumante ): must contain at least 70% Raboso Piave and / or Raboso Veronese . A maximum of 30% other analogue grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the provinces of Venice and Treviso may be added.
  • Venezia Rosso : must contain at least 50% Merlot . A maximum of 50% other analogous grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the provinces of Venice and Treviso may be added.
  • Venezia Bianco Frizzante and Venezia Bianco Spumante : must consist of at least 50% of the Verduzzo Friulano and / or Verduzzo Trevigiano and / or Glera grape varieties . A maximum of 50% other analogous grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the provinces of Venice and Treviso may be added.
Almost single origin wines

The wines produced must each contain at least 85% of the grape variety mentioned. A maximum of 15% other analogous grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the provinces of Venice and Treviso may be added. The following types of wine are produced:
