The Recioto di Gambellara is an Italian white wine from the province of Vicenza {region of Veneto }, which has had the "controlled and guaranteed designation of origin " ( Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita ) since August 1st, 2008. It was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Cultivation

It is grown in the municipalities of Gambellara , Montebello Vicentino , Montorso Vicentino and Zermeghedo in the western province of Vicenza . The wine already received the status of a Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC for short) in 1970 . In 2008 the Recioto di Gambellara was classified as a DOCG .

In contrast to other Recioto wines ( Recioto di Soave , Recioto della Valpolicella ), the wine is made from 100% Garganega grapes . The wine can be developed as:

  • Color: more or less intense straw yellow to golden yellow with all shades of amber
  • Smell: intense aroma of ripe fruit with a hint of vanilla
  • Taste: distinctive, harmonious, characteristic, lovely to sweet, with a slightly bitter aftertaste, also lively, with possible wood tones
  • Alcohol content: at least 11.3  % by volume , with a balance of at least 2.7% potential alcohol content
  • Acidity : at least 4.5 g / l
  • Dry extract: at least 22.0 g / l

  • Perlage: fine and persistent
  • Color: more or less intense straw yellow to golden yellow
  • Smell: intense, fruity
  • Taste: characteristic, velvety, balanced, fruity, typical, sometimes with nuances of vanilla
  • Alcohol content: at least 11.0  % by volume , with a balance of at least 3.0% potential alcohol content
  • Acidity : at least 5.0 g / l
