Spumante

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Spumante is Italian sparkling wine . The two legally prescribed EC designations are "Italian sparkling wine" and "Italian quality sparkling wine". The designation "DOC" ( Denominazione di origine controllata ) indicates that it comes from a certain growing area.

Originally, in contrast to the frizzante, sparkling wine was produced using the classic bottle fermentation method. But now there are also bottle-fermented frizzante.
