Bardolino is an Italian wine-growing region , named after the place of the same name in the southeast of Lake Garda , which belongs to the province of Veneto . The quality levels DOC and DOCG are produced. The DOC level has had the denomination since 1968, which was updated on March 7, 2014. With DOCG wine, the requirements for alcohol content, yield per hectare and vinification are stricter. The Bardolino DOCG is called Superiore .

Cultivation

The production area for DOC wines includes the localities of Bardolino , Garda , Lazise , Affi , Costermano , Cavaion , Torri del Benaco , Caprino , Rivoli Veronese , Pastrengo , Bussolengo , Sona , Sommacampagna , Castelnuovo , Peschiera , Valeggio . Wines that were grown, pressed and bottled in the core area between the municipalities of Bardolino, Lazise, ​​Affi, Garda, Costermano and Cavaion are allowed to use the designation "Bardolino classico".

The DOCG wine (Bardolino Superiore) can be grown, pressed and bottled in Bardolino , Garda , Lazise , Affi , Costermano , Cavaion , Torri del Benaco , Caprino , Rivoli Veronese , Pastrengo , Bussolengo , Sona , Sommacampagna , Castelnuovo , Peschiera and Valeggio .
