Caprino Veronese is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 8615 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Verona in Veneto . The municipality is located about 23 kilometers northwest of Verona and about 9 kilometers east of Lake Garda . The municipality is the center of the Comunità montana del Baldo .
history
The name of the community or locality is said to come from the Celtic tribe of the Cauri , although a trade center may have been here. From the beginning of the 15th century to the end of the 18th century, the area and the locality were part of the Republic of Venice .
Santuario Madonna della Corona
The church and pilgrimage site of Madonna della Corona is located in the Spiazzi district at 773 m slm in a rock face high above the Adige Valley . The church was partly built into the rock , so that the west side and parts of the north side are directly adjacent to the rocks and do not have their own outer walls. The building was built between 1974 - 1978 renovated.

Caprino Veronese maintains partnerships with the French city of Saulieu in the Côte-d'Or department and with the Rhineland-Palatinate city of Gau-Algesheim (Germany).
Economy and Transport
The municipality is primarily shaped by tourism. From here the Monte Baldo can be reached directly .
From 1889 until the final closure in 1959, the place had a station on the Verona – Caprino / Garda railway .
To the east of Caprino Veronese, the A22 autostrada runs in a north-south direction along the Adige . The closest connection is in the municipality of Affi .
