Minerbe is a northeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 4562 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Verona in Veneto . The municipality is located about 40 kilometers from Verona . Minerbe is part of the Unione comunale Dall'Adige al Fratta and borders directly on the province of Padua .

history

A place called Vicus Minervae was already detectable in ancient times . The place is mentioned in documents in 932 as Minervae , finally as Menerve , Menervio and in 1228 as Menerbio .

Minerbe has had a partnership with Schwabenheim an der Selz in Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany) since 2001 .

In addition to the former Strada Statale 500 di Lonigo (today: provincial road) to Montecchio , the former Strada Statale 10 Padana Inferiore (today: regional road) runs through the municipality . Minerbe train station is on the former Treviso - Ostiglia railway line and has been closed since 1987.
