Veronella is a northeastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 5127 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Verona in Veneto . The municipality is located about 29 kilometers east-southeast of Verona on the Collettore Zerpano , a side canal of the Adige . The north-western border forms the Alpione . Veronella is part of the Unione comunale Adige-Guà .

history

In ancient times there was a fortification called Castrum Leonis here . In 589 the area was destroyed by the so-called Rotta del Cucca , a flood of the Adige.

economy

The Arcole in particular is produced in the Veronella's wine-growing region .
