Arcole is an Italian commune in the province of Verona , Veneto region . The place with 6354 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) is at an altitude of 27 m slm and extends over 18.81 km² .
The place was best known for the Battle of Arcole , which took place in 1796 between the French and the Austrians .
Viticulture
In this area, south of Verona, in the provinces of Verona and Vicenza , white , rosé , red and sparkling wines of the same name are produced, which have had a controlled " Designation of Origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since September 13, 2000 , last updated on March 7, 2014.

Cultivation is permitted in the following municipalities:
- In the province of Verona: Arcole, Cologna Veneta , Albaredo d'Adigee , Zimella , Veronella , Zevio , Belfiore d'Adige and in parts of the municipalities of Caldiero , San Bonifacio , Soave , Colognola ai Colli , Monteforte d'Alpone , Lavagno , Pressana , Vago and San Martino Buon Albergo
- In the province of Vicenza: Lonigo , Sarego , Alonte , Orgiano , Sossano and Roveredo di Guà .

The following grape varieties may be used to produce the wines :
- Blended wines (Cuvées)
- Arcole Bianco (also as Frizzante , Spumante or Passito ): must contain at least 50% Garganega . A maximum of 50% other analogue grape varieties that are approved for cultivation may be added (individually or together).
- Arcole Rosso (also as Novello and Frizzante ), Arcole Rosato (also as Novello and Frizzante) and Arcole Nero : must contain at least 50% Merlot . A maximum of 50% other analogue grape varieties that are approved for cultivation may be added (individually or together).
- Almost single origin wines
The wines produced must each contain at least 85% of the grape variety mentioned. A maximum of 15% other analogous grape varieties approved for cultivation in the provinces of Vicenza and Verona may be added. The following types of wine are produced:

- Arcole Pinot Bianco
