San Martino Buon Albergo is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 15,818 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Verona in Veneto . The municipality is located about 9 kilometers east of Verona and about 40 kilometers west of Vicenza .
history
The place was first referred to as San Martino in 1146. As early as 489, Theodoric the Great had let his army rest before the battles against Odoacer at the gates of Verona between San Martino and San Michele .

The Strada Statale 11 Padana Superiore (SR 11) leads through San Martino Buon Albergo . From here there is also a connection to the A4 autostrada from Turin to Trieste . The municipality's train station is on the Milan – Venice railway line .
