In the 1990s, a planted vineyard area of 1,631 hectares was raised, most of which are located near Lake Garda .

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

  • The shoot tip is open. It is hairy white wool with a slight pink tinge to the edges. The young leaves are hairy like a cobweb and bordered in bronze color.
  • The large leaves are usually three-lobed (less often five-lobed) and strongly indented. The stem bay is open in a V-shape. The blade is bluntly serrated. The underside of the leaf is almost hairless
  • The conical to cylindrical grape is medium to large in size, quite loose and shouldered. The round to slightly oval berries are medium-sized and reddish-purple in color. The berries look like they are dusted with flour.

Maturation: approx. 40 days after the Gutedel . It is therefore considered to ripen very late.
