The Strada Statale 50 del Grappa e del Passo Rolle (abbreviation: SS 50 ) is an Italian state road in northern Italy that leads from Ponte nelle Alpi to Predazzo . It is located in the Italian regions of Veneto and Trentino-South Tyrol and has a total length of 116 km.

Route

The route begins in Ponte nelle Alpi , at the junction of the A 27 and the SS 51 . The route initially leads west through the Piave Valley to Belluno . Other places are Sedico , Santa Giustina and Feltre , where a bypass is currently being built as downtown Feltre is congested. The bypass begins in the east of Feltre and then leads around the place and meets the SS 50 again to the west.

The SS 50bis branches off between Feltre and Fonzaso and joins the SS 47 after just 10 km . The route leads through a narrow valley, at the end of which the route then leads through a tunnel that ends directly at the SS 47.

The SS 50 itself then leads north through a valley without any major towns. The mountains in this valley are particularly beautiful and you have wonderful views of them from the road. After Fiera di Primiero the route climbs steeply, behind San Martino di Castrozza the hairpin bends begin that lead to Passo Rolle (1984 m). The route then runs westwards past Lago di Forte Buso in the Parco Naturale Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino , where the Austro-Hungarian fortification of the Paneveggio Barrier can still be seen.

After 116 km she has reached her final destination, Predazzo in Val di Fiemme . There it joins Strada Statale 48 delle Dolomiti .

From Fonzaso to the border of the Veneto region , the road was initially under the administration of the ANAS , since 2001 the Veneto region has been responsible, which in turn transferred the administration to the province of Belluno (under concession to the Veneto Strade SpA ), from the border to Trentino at km 60, località Monte Croce , to the destination the road is under the administration of the Autonomous Province of Trento .
