Surname

The name of the road is the Valsugana (also Val Sugana, German Suganertal), a valley in Italy in the southeast of Trentino , east of Trento on the border with Veneto.

Route

Two-lane expansion of the SS 47

The route begins in Padua. From there, it initially leads north as a normal state road through the plain along the Brenta River . Curatolo and San Giorgio del Bosco are touched places there .

At Cittadella it crosses the SS 53 . The SS 47 continues north and reaches the village of Rosà . The next well-known place is Bassano del Grappa , which can, however, be bypassed on an expressway that starts just before Bassano. The old route leads directly through the city. Shortly afterwards, the mountains begin and the dual-lane expressway leads through an undeveloped valley to the north and reaches the regional border between Veneto and Trentino-South Tyrol.

Then the Valsugana begins. The first break in the expressway is between Grigno and Castelnuovo . Borgo Valsugana , Roncegno and Levico Terme are located to the right and left of the expressway . Before the lake Lago di Caldonazzo the upgraded stretch of the expressway ends for approx. 12 km and then leads to Pergine Valsugana and then through two tunnels to Trento, where it joins the Brenner road SS 12 .
