from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yingzhao fanzi quan ( Chinese  鹰爪 翻 子 拳 , pinyin yīngzhǎo fānzi quán , eagle claw boxing ) is a specific type of boxing from Xiong County (雄县) in the Chinese province of Hebei . It was inscribed on the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the People's Republic of China (No. 799).

History and description of the style

The Yingzhaoquan is a mixture of the Yuequan and the Fanziquan , hence the name Yingzhao fanzi quan. Very little is known about the origins of the martial arts system. There are many legends surrounding the style. The only thing that can be documented with certainty is that the monk Li Quan developed the style further. Eagle claw boxing is an animal imitation style. Certain characteristics such as gripping, tearing, scratching, waiting quietly and attacking as fast as lightning are characteristics that have been combined with traditional boxing techniques.
