Deivydas Matulevičius (born April 8, 1989 in Alytus , Lithuanian SSR , Soviet Union , today's Lithuania ) is a Lithuanian national football player . He has been with FK Kauno Žalgiris in A lyga since August 2019 .
Career
societies
Matulevičius began his professional career in 2007 at Interas-AE Visaginas, but soon moved to Vilnius FC . After the club had stopped playing at the end of 2008, he moved to Poland, where he could not assert himself. In 2011 the striker returned to Lithuania and played for FK Žalgiris Vilnius . This season Matulevičius was the top scorer with 19 goals and thus contributed significantly to reaching second place. For the following season he was awarded to KS Cracovia in Poland , but could not prevail again. After the loan ended, he moved immediately to the Romanian first division side Pandurii Târgu Jiu . After a temporary engagement in Kazakhstan, Matulevičius played again in Romania at FC Botoșani since the beginning of 2016 . At the beginning of 2017, he joined the Belgian first division club Royal Excel Mouscron . After half a year in Belgium, Matulevičius moved to Hibernian Edinburgh . In January 2018 the contract in Scotland was terminated. Then he played for almost three months for Kuopion PS in Finland and moved on to the Romanian third division team Rapid Bucharest in the summer .
National team
Matulevičius went through the Lithuanian youth national teams from U-17 to U-21. On May 29, 2012 he made his debut for the Lithuanian senior team in the 0-0 draw against Russia when he came on in the 80th minute for Darvydas Šernas . Matulevičius scored his first international goal in the 2-1 defeat in the friendly against Luxembourg .
