Darvydas Šernas (born April 22, 1984 in Alytus , Lithuania ) is a Lithuanian football player .
Career
society
Šernas started his career in 2001 at FK Dainava Alytus , from where he moved to Vėtra Vilnius in 2002 . In five and a half years at Vėtra, the team was three times third in the top Lithuanian league. He also played in four consecutive UI Cups , scoring two goals in five appearances (against CFR Cluj and AFC Llanelli from Wales ). In September 2008 he moved to Russia on loan to Spartak Nalchik for three months .
The left midfielder signed with Widzew Łódź in Poland . After first place in 2009 in the second highest Polish league , which was still not enough for promotion due to licensing problems, the club was able to become first in the second division again in 2010 and move up to the Ekstraklasa . In the summer of 2011, Šernas moved to league rivals Zagłębie Lubin .
At the beginning of January 2013 he switched to the Turkish first division club Gaziantepspor on loan until the end of the 2012/13 season , who also has a purchase option. The club made use of this in May 2013 and signed Šernas for the 2013/14 season .
In spring 2014, Šernas moved on loan to the Australian club Perth Glory . He completed 10 league games and scored one goal. For the 2014/15 season he returned to Poland and signed a one-year contract with the second division Wigry Suwałki .
In January 2016 he returned to Turkey and joined the second division Alanyaspor . At the beginning of September 2016 he left this club again.
National team
For Lithuania, Šernas has played 35 games and scored five goals. He made his debut on May 31, 2008 against Estonia when he came on for Andrius Jokšas in the 51st minute . The friendly international match in Jūrmala was won 1-0.
