history
Soviet Union
The PFK Spartak Nalschik was founded in 1959 and initially played in the regional "B-Class". In 1965 Spartak was first and was promoted to the "A-Class", where the club was divided into the second group. The team played there from 1966 to 1970.
After the Soviet league system was reorganized, Spartak played in the Soviet Second League (1971, 1977, 1978, 1981–1989) and the Soviet First League (1972–1976, 1979, 1980). During this time the team rose and fell several times. In 1990 and 1991 Spartak played in a transitional league. Until then, the club's best result was 14th place in the first division in 1974 and 1975.
In addition, the club won the RSFSR in 1965 and 1970.
Spartak was named "Awtomobilist" (1969–1972) and "Elbrus" (1976), after Elbrus , the highest mountain in the Caucasus and Russia.
Russia
After the collapse of the Soviet Union , Spartak Nalchik was incorporated into the newly established second-class Russian 1st Division in 1992 . The following year the club was relegated and in the 1995 season managed to rise again after two years in the 2nd division . Up to second place in 2005 and the associated promotion to the Premjer League , Spartak again spent many years in the 1st division . In the 2010 season , with sixth place in the table, the best position in the history of the club was achieved. In the following season , the team could not build on the good performance and was relegated to the 1st division. At the end of the 2012/13 season, the club reached the relegation place, but was defeated in both games Krylja Sowetow Samara and thus remained second class. In 2014 Spartak withdrew from the 1st division due to financial difficulties. In 2016, after winning the relay championship south in the 2nd division, the renewed promotion to the 1st division could be celebrated. 2017 followed an immediate crash into the third division.
