Viorel Frunză (born December 6, 1979 in Chișinău , Moldovan SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Moldovan national soccer player . He played a total of 259 games in the Moldovan Divizia Națională , the Romanian League 1 , the Greek Super League , the Russian Premier League , the Kazakh Premier League and the Belarusian Wyschejschaja Liha . In 2011 he won the Kazakh championship with Shakhtar Karagandy .

Career

Viorel Frunză began his career in 2000 in his home country near Zimbru Chișinău . He spent the 2004/05 season at the Romanian club FC Vaslui . In 2006 he returned to Moldova for FC Dacia Chișinău . From 2007 to 2009 the striker was under contract with the Romanian first division club CFR Cluj and was loaned to several clubs during this time. 2010 ran Frunză for the Kazakh first division club FK Atyrau . At the beginning of 2011 he moved to FK Njoman Hrodna in Belarus, before returning to Shakhtar Karagandy in Kazakhstan in July 2011 . There he won his first title with the 2011 championship . Then Frunză returned to Moldova, where he joined FC Veris Chișinău . With Veris he managed to march through from the third to the first Moldovan league. In the 2013/14 season he scored 18 goals and thus played a major role in the qualification of his team for the Europa League . In the spring of 2015 he played for half a year for FC Dacia Chișinău before ending his career in the summer of 2015.
